Mad Maggie's Birthday Parties

Laser Tag? Indoor playground? Those are old ideas for a child's birthday party! Make your child's party something special -- have your party with Mad Maggie's, and have your child be Guest Creamsmith for a Day!

Our birthday party package gives your child and his or her guests a back stage look at the production of our award winning ice cream! It's fun, interesting, and delicious!

Sounds great! How's it work?

Just call or email to reserve a party spot for your group. We'll need to know the number of people to expect -- we can accomodate up to 15 people during a session. We'll also give you a choice of several of our menu flavors that you can choose to watch being made. Cookie Dough seems to be a favorite of kids, but feel free to ask for something different!

During the party, your group gets to come into our back room ice cream production facility and learn how great ice cream is made. One of our expert Cream Smithees will be on hand to explain the process of making ice cream, and to handle the operation of the machinery. Your group can help prepare the ingredients, and watch as we turn it into some of the best ice cream in the area.

When the ice cream is ready, each child will get a small dish of ice cream to eat while it's still soft (they can choose another of our available flavors, if some of them don't like the one we're making.) We'll also pack a pint container for each party member, and store it in our special flash freezer for tempering. (For kids' groups, it's often fun to have each kid pre-decorate a lid with their "brand" label, so that they can identify and take home the pint or quart that "they made".)

The tempering process requires at least eight hours of storage in our blast freezer, so you can either come back the next day to pick up the pints for your group, or we can give you claim certificates that you can hand out to your invitees, so that they can come by and claim their own container. We'll even print up custom labels for your containers, featuring the name of your birthday guest of honor.

How Long Does It Take?

Plan on spending around one hour with us, which is typically plenty of time for us to explain the process and make one batch of ice cream. We'll happily allow up to ninety minutes should your group have a lot of questions, or if you just want to take your time and enjoy the experience. Additional charges may apply if your group requires more than ninety minutes to complete your batch.

How Much Does It Cost?

The Birthday Boy or Girl is free, including two quarts of ice cream to take home! For the others, the cost is $95 for up to 8 guests. For additional attendees after the first 8, the charge is $8 each.

Any other options?

Absolutely!

• We'll gladly set up our Bounce House so that your kids can have some fun before and after the tour. For safety, we have to dedicate one of our team members to monitor its use, so we have to charge an additional $25 for this.
• We can provide "Goody Bags", with an assortment candy, toys, and a certificate for a free ice cream cone on a return visit. ($4 per child)
• A round of Miniature Golf at the BFM driving range next door can be added for an additional $4 per child.
• We can provide an ice cream birthday cake for your child for an additional $20. The cake feeds from 12 to 20 people, depending upon the portion size you desire.

How do I Sign Up?

That's the easy part! Call or email us, and we'll agree on a production time. Your time is reserved upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit of $15, with the remainder due when your group arrives on your production day.

When your deposit is received, we'll give you (if you wish...) container lids for your party to decorate. If you want to request having us make a particular flavor, just contact us at least a week prior to your production day to let us know, and we'll try to adjust our production schedule so that you can see the flavor you want being made.

Also, please make sure that you ask all of the invitees about any nut allergies that they might have, so that we can take special care should anyone be sensitive to nut products.
